HOA
REFORM BILL -- PART II
(Legislative
Session 2016)
SENATORS PREVENT AFFORDABLE JUSTICE FOR OWNERS IN HOAs
In a 6:4 vote senators of the Committee on
Regulated Industries prevented owners living in mandatory homeowners
associations from getting a tool that would create affordable justice. Remember:
More than 2.5 millions homes are located within mandatory HOAs here in
Florida. But special interests, using these HOAs as their private cash cows,
don't like regulatory agencies -- or easy ways to enforce existing laws. So,
the owner-friendly HOA Reform Bill, filed by Senator Alan Hays, went up in
flames at the committee hearing. Here is the official voting record -- so
you can see who voted against your interests.
